Patrol reports 10 fatalities over Thanksgiving holiday

The 13 counties in Central Missouri, including Boone, Callaway and Cole, comprise the patrol's Troop F.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol says two people died on state and federal highways over the Thanksgiving weekend. "It's a considerably increased amount of traffic compared to any other regular weekend".

Troopers were posted every 20 miles on I-29 from the Buchanan County line to the Iowa state line over the peak travel days. A search would later reveal the drugs, according to troopers. During these operations, troopers investigated 28 traffic crashes, in which there were one fatality and nine individuals injured. During the same period in 2015, Troop D troopers investigated 81 traffic crashes resulting in 29 injuries and two fatalities, and made 17 arrests for driving while intoxicated. Fargo was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash.

"Taking the job of driving seriously, and remembering to buckle up, will help reduce the number of traffic crashes and fatalities in Missouri".
