Apple going RED for World AIDS Day

(RED)'s critical work addresses the disparity in access to life-saving medication in sub-Saharan Africa, which has the highest prevalence of AIDS on the planet. In an interview with USA Today published on Wednesday, Cook said that Apple's mission is to improve the world, and that the (RED) initiative is an important part of that effort.

The goal? To achieve a generation that is AIDS-free at birth, by ending cases where mothers transmit the disease to their children.

'We want to leave the world better than we found it'.

Some of your favorite iOS apps are going red. Some of the 10 developers include Rovio (Angry Birds 2, Angry Birds Pop!), EA (FIFA Mobile, Sim City BuildIt, Plants Vs. Zombies), Zynga (FarmVille: Tropic Escape, CSR2) and Supercell (Clash of Clans, Clash Royale, Boom Beach).

In addition to the current (RED) lineup that's available year-round, Apple has added four new items to the collection: an iPhone 7 Smart Battery Case, an iPhone SE Case, a Beats Pill+ Portable Speaker and Beats Solo 3 Wireless On-Ear Headphones. Apple Store employees will share all the ways our customers can join us in supporting (RED) and the fight against AIDS.

Putting two officers in each squad auto is more expensive and might mean that fewer calls can be handled at once, Floyd said. Officers also were shot and wounded Sunday night during traffic stops in Sanibel, Florida, and Gladstone, Missouri.

From December 1 through December 7, Apple will donate $1 to (RED) for every purchase made using Apple Pay on Apple's website, at a retail Apple Store or through the Apple Store app, up to $1 million. Bank of America is getting in on the action, too, making a donation for every Apple Pay transaction using its cards, up to $1 million.

"We put our weight behind lots of things in the civil rights area", Cook said, referring to Apple's work with (RED). In the U.S., iTunes Movies is offering a free download of The Lazarus Effect, the documentary about the mission of (RED).

The Killers have also recorded a holiday album, Don't Waste Your Wishes, which will be available exclusively through iTunes and 100 per cent of the proceeds will be donated.

The 10th anniversary of Apple's support of (Red) and its efforts to eradicate HIV/AIDS come amid growing unease over US President-elect Donald Trump's repeated pledges to repeal the Affordable Care Act upon taking office in January, a move that could herald dire consequences for the uninsured/underinsured persons living with HIV who've come to rely on it. "And the stakes are high because we can end AIDS by 2030". "And we'll always touch more people through our products than anything else".
