Hundreds protest white nationalist's speech at Texas A&M

A&M police say two non-students were arrested but gave no details.

"Police watched over outside, but they really didn't get involved until people moved inside and started clogging hallways and chanting", Snell said.

Richard Spencer first made headlines when a video of his speech promoting white supremacy became public. Almost two hours into the event, state troopers wearing helmets pushed the crowd away from the student center building and locked the doors to prevent people from entering.

Protesters chanted "The whole world is watching".

"Aggies United" will be held at Kyle Field, and joining Martin is actor and author Hill Harper, and Texas A&M Student Body President Hannah Wimberly.

There were some supporters of white nationalism who clapped during the speech and asked questions of Spencer, saying he had inspired them.

One student said the event did a good job of promoting diversity.

Spencer is enjoying his 15 minutes in the spotlight following Donald Trump's win, and openly discusses his attempt to use the increased media attention to his advantage.

"I think these people represent something that is so antithetical to what I believe", Young told CNN. At one point during the presentation, A&M Campus Rabbi Matt Rosenberg offered to sit with Spencer to study "radical inclusion and love"-an offer Spencer half-heartedly accepted, before pivoting to espouse his rhetoric of nationalist racism". Trump has said he disavows the White nationalists. "What makes me mad is when I hear white Americans say that this entire country was built by them and not on the backs of minorities, that whole Manifest Destiny thing".

Next week will be another sleepy weekend with Paramount's " Office Christmas Party " as the only new wide release. Arrival , benefiting from positive reviews and strong word of mouth, has earned $73 million domestically to date.

Richard Spencer has said he is surprised by the planned protests against him.

Mr Wiginton continued: "It's not just pigment - it's people's behaviour, people's IQs, people evolve over different times and different places".

Wiginton said he hopes for a full ban on immigration in the future.

"I think (the US) was at one time (a white nation)", he said.

Challenged, the white nationalist didn't offer further evidence about his views.

"Private citizens are permitted to reserve space available to the public as we are a public university", Texas A&M spokesperson Amy B. Smith told the student newspaper, The Battalion, last month.

As he delivered his address to a room largely filled with those who oppose his views, about 2,000 gathered at the school's football stadium nearby protesting his message, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Spencer is due to speak at Texas A&M but the content of his speech is unknown.
