PMO, Jung targeting Sisodia: Kejriwal

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has recommended to Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung that the recent appointment of serving Value-Added Tax commissioner as Member Secretary of Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) be withdrawn, terming it to be "unconstitutional". Speaking to IE, Kejriwal said that it was being revealed that the Shunglu Committee was conspiring against Manish Sisodia. "Our sources say that he will be arrested just before the Punjab election", Mr Kejriwal said.

With Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal wanting to know how Union Minister Mahesh Sharma was making the payments for his daughter's wedding, the Bharatiya Janata Party leader was quick to correct the AAP chief saying, "it was his son and not his daughter" who was getting married.

Kejriwal's allegations came a day after the panel submitted its report to Lt Governor Najeeb Jung after scrutinising around 400 files based on which the AAP government had taken key decisions since it came to power in February 2015.

The chief minister also trained his guns at former Comptroller and Auditor General VK Shunglu, alleging malpractices from his end, as chairman of the Delhi Public School (DPS) society.

An apex court judge had on November 15 recused from hearing Delhi government's appeals against the High Court verdict which had held that LG was the administrative head whose prior consent is needed in all administrative decisions.

In the report, the Shunglu committee has pointed out several instances of violations of laid down rules and procedures by AAP government in taking major decisions.

"Today, it has been 20 days of introducing demonetisation of high currency notes".

He said black money economy had galloped since the note ban was announced and the new currency was being used for corruption.

The Delhi Chief Minister alleged that counterfeit notes are being churned out even faster than what RBI is doing which gives rise to suspicion as to whether it is a way to convert black money into white.

The chief minister said that the Centre has also brought drastic cuts in fixed deposit interest rate which will pile misery on the elderly. "In comparison to October, corruption level and generation of black money have increased by 10 times". "Gold is also being bought for Rs 30,000 per 10 gm, but through wrong channel, it is being bought for Rs 56,000", he alleged.
