Pokemon Sun/Moon is Nintendo's fastest-selling release ever in Europe

Pokemon Sun/Moon is Nintendo's fastest-selling release ever in Europe

And clearly, people love it. Nintendo has just announced that these two games are officially the company's fastest-selling games in North America.

Following a big win with casual games with the release of the Nintendo Wii in 2006 the company has been losing ground to its competitors in recent years.

Pokemon Sun & Moon arrived a couple of weeks ago and it has boosted sales of the Nintendo 3DS.

The next populist shock may be Italy's Dec. 4 referendum
By Mark Gilbert In less than two weeks, Italians will vote in a referendum on whether to change the nation's constitution. Unsurprisingly, the Italian stock market is down by about 20 per cent year to date, the most of any European index.

If you haven't made a decision as to which starter is right for you, these videos might help solidify your choice. It is important to note that Pokemon X/Y were the previous record holders for Nintendo's fastest-selling games back when the games launched in 2013. The success isn't limited exclusively to the Americas, either. The Pokemon's impressive sales performance continues to buoy Nintendo 3DS sales, which is said to have around 71,300 sold units for this week only. Overall, Pokemon franchise sales have surpassed 280 million units worldwide since the first Pokemon game, "Pokemon Red and Blue", came out in 1996.

Pokemon Sun and Moon isn't vastly different to X & Y when it comes to gameplay elements, however it does come with a brand new plot and there are brand new Pokemon.

The game is the latest entry in the long-running series, and sees players heading off on a monster-hunting adventure across Alola.
