Salvation Army kicks off bell-ringing season

During the holiday season, over 3 million families rely on The Salvation Army to provide them with a warm meal on Christmas Day or toys for their children.

Fortunately Issa came across the Salvation Army in Kalamazoo, which helped her get back on her feet and on a new path.

The Salvation Army of Milwaukee County is still hiring bell ringers for the 2016 Red Kettle Campaign season.

"This is his first year (to help with the campaign) in the United States", Hawkins-Okosun said. If the rain continues, the event will move to the Salvation Army Building No. 1 located at 633 North Broadway Avenue. Donations from the public are solicited at the kettles.

The Salvation Army is a vital organization in Southwest Florida and nationwide to help people during hardships, emergencies, natural disasters and more.
