Chelsea Manning will lose hormone treatment

Chelsea Manning, was sentenced to 35 years in prison after leaking classified military documents to whistleblower website WikiLeaks that were made public in 2010.

To the editor: Manning's commutation is another indication of either the ineptitude of President Obama or an indication of his disdain for our military.

But just days before the commutation, WikiLeaks tweeted that Assange-who is living in a self-imposed exile in the Ecuadorian Embassy in London amid fears he could be charged in the U.S. for exposing the secrets Manning leaked-tweeted, "If Obama grants Manning clemency Assange will agree to United States extradition despite clear unconstitutionality of DoJ case".

Outgoing US President Barack Obama commuted the bulk of Manning's sentence just days before he is to leave office.

WikiLeaks head Julian Assange will not willfully face charges in the United States without negotiating with the Department of Justice about what those charges are, he said during a Thursday press conference.

Assange has apparently backed off of that promise anyway.

Assange's lawyer tells The Telegraph that Assange wanted the president to grant Manning clemency and release her immediately rather than commuting the sentence and releasing her in May.

Meanwhile a statement from Wikileaks suggested that he would only go to the United States "provided all his rights are guarenteed [sic]".

Mr Pollack said: "For many months, I have asked the Department of Justice to clarify Mr Assange's status".

Analyst Perspectives on Price Reaction History: Oracle Corporation (NYSE:ORCL)
On average, equities analysts anticipate that Oracle Corporation will post $2.56 earnings per share for the current fiscal year. Analysts are also projecting an Average Revenue Estimate for Oracle Corporation as $9.25 Billion in the Current Quarter.

Before her conviction, Manning had served as an intelligence analyst in Iraq, a position that made it possible for her to leak those documents.

He has refused to meet prosecutors in Sweden, where he remains wanted on an allegation of rape, which he denies, and has repeatedly said he fears extradition to the U.S. on espionage charges if he leaves the embassy.

Obama defended the reduction of Manning's sentence, saying that his initial sentence was "very disproportionate" compared to those of other leakers.

"I'm tempted to say that this is an astonishing display of intellectual dishonesty", Earnest said.

Manning was convicted in 2013 of leaking classified information about US national security activities that was later published by WikiLeaks. And we know that much of those efforts to disseminate that information was rooted in a Republican - Russian strategy to undermine confidence in American democracy.

The Army private will be released in May. "I would welcome the opportunity to discuss with the DOJ the status of its investigation, any request it wants to make for extradition, and its basis for such a request", Pollack wrote in an email late Tuesday.

It's not clear whether WikiLeaks' founder will honor his pledge.

Assange has not left London's Ecuadoran embassy since 2012.
