Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Arizona Placed on Lockdown

Davis-Monthan Air Force Base was placed on lockdown orders after someone reported the sound of gunshots on Monday, Jan. 23, according to a news release from the base.

All personnel at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base southwest of downtown Tucson were ordered to take shelter, spokesman Neal Joiner said. The lockdown was lifted after Security Forces sweeps were completed at 11:38 a.m.

Schrag said people on base are now "free to resume normal operations". Windows and doors are locked and the school is on a lockdown. "There are unconfirmed reports of gunshot sounds".
