Owner tries to put sweater on dog, dog attacks owner

A Tampa, Florida pit bull mix owner was attacked by her own dog, on Friday, after she tried to put a Christmas sweater on it, according to family and police. Police then stated that the couple's 22-year-old son Antoine tried to stab the dog in the head and neck to try and stop his dog, but was also attacked by Scarface.

All three were able to escape into the house, leaving the dog in the garden.

Tampa police and Hillsborough County Animal Control arrived not long after and tried to subdue Scarface with a tranquilizer gun, but were unsuccessful. The dog managed to get into the home, where there were two children present.

Animal Control and Tampa Police responded.

Brenda Guerrero and her husband Ismael Guerrero, 46, were both taken to hospital for their injuries. They are expected to be OK. "When they tazed the dog the dog was still pulling away and was able to release the prongs from the tazer". Brenda's injuries were considered serious but not life threatening, reported WTSP.

"She's doing much better because she can finally move and talk", Harris said, adding that Brenda "was really attached to that dog". Although the pit bull attacked its owners, there has been no definite word whether the dog will be euthanized or not. Neighbors of the Guerreros stated that the dog sometimes got out of its yard and ran free in the neighborhood but never appeared aggressive or harmed anyone.
