Trump Says Supreme Court Nomination To Come Next Week

US President Donald Trump said on Tuesday he will name his choice to fill the current opening on the US Supreme Court next week.

"I'll be making my decision this week, we'll be announcing next week", Trump said, responding to a reporter's question during a pool spray as he signed executive orders in the Oval Office.

"I appreciate the President soliciting our advice on this important matter", McConnell said in a statement.

While speaking on the Senate floor on Tuesday morning, Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said Trump invited him, along with Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and Senators Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) and Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) to the White House to start a discussion about who should fill the seat, "as part of his ongoing consultations with members of the Senate". Over the weekend, however, Trump indicated that he would indeed choose someone from the lists he released during the campaign, giving a shortlist of possible future justices.

Soon after the game, Charlton clambered down from his seat at Stoke into the United dressing room to congratulate Rooney. Breaking records is one thing, now Rooney's priority will be hauling United up the standings.

Gorsuch's name was part of a list of 21 potential nominees for the Supreme Court, which now has only eight justices as opposed to the Constitutionally-mandated nine, but ABC News reported Tuesday that his nomination is expected as early as next week, according to sources. That could lead to a showdown about Senate rules. Gorsuch, 49, is on the Denver-based 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals and Hardiman, 51, sits on the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Pittsburgh. Nominated to the Chicago bench by President George W. Bush, Sykes recently supported the common conservative position that closely held corporations should be exempt from the contraceptive mandate in the federal health care law.

Who is Bill Pryor? If he is in fact nominated, Gorsuch would be the youngest nominee in the last 25 years.

Democrats did not lower the 60-vote threshold to confirm Supreme Court nominees when they were in power in 2013. "And I think I saw that they broke about two- or three-to-one in favor of Trump".
