English Premier League wrap: Chelsea beat Arsenal, Hull City stun Liverpool

"I feel Chelsea have found a better defensive balance since we beat them 3-0 at home in September", Wenger said. In the biggest game of the day, Chelsea hosted Arsenal at Stamford Bridge and there was no surprise as the hosts won the match by a comfortable margin of 3-1.

"The league is not finished today". We've already played Liverpool this week, now we face Arsenal and we still have a lot of tough games to come.

Antonio Conte believes Pep Guardiola was simply playing mind games when he declared the Premier League title race over.

When Arsenal last won the Premier League in 2004, they were known as the "Invincibles". There's absolutely no way he would have survived in a team with genuine ability to win the Premier League. Burnley have lost on all but once on their travels this season and only the heroics of Tom Heaton against Manchester United at Old Trafford, which earned them a point, ensured that they haven't lost all their away games this season.

For all of Conte's caution, the one undeniable fact is that Chelsea have improved tremendously since our first meeting against Arsenal.

"I don't really care what people think about me anymore. In this way, anything can happen".

Wenger said, "Yes, we are a bit short [in midfield] at the moment but I think we have young players who can do well in there". Now we are showing this. Odion Ighalo has left Watford, but another Nigerian in the person of Isaac Success is still in the team and we hope he gradually fights his way into the starting lineup and start banging in the goals for the Hornets.

They are 12 points behind Chelsea, but there is a gap between these teams in terms of ability, hunger, desire and pride in performance.

The retreat continued early in the second half when Eden Hazard picked the ball up around the halfway line.

Bringing up the money argument is all well and good and an easy way of criticising, but Arsenal did spend and brought in Granit Xhaka in the summer as they evidently had faith in him to do the job needed in midfield for them. Today I'm pleased for his work, above all without the ball, defensively. "You have to play 90 minutes with full concentration and everybody on top of their game".

"We keep going because we want to win the league", he said. Yet four months later, despite the two sides similarities in terms of squad depth and strength, Chelsea are nine points ahead of Arsenal and cantering to the title. Getting four points out of six on offer this time around shows the magnitude of Chelsea's progress (if the 13-game winning streak and the 16 wins from 18 weren't clear enough).

There are nearly four months left to play of this season. No time to rest just yet!
