Rory Feek Dedicates Grammy Win To Late Wife Joey Feek

Last night, Rory accepted the Grammy Award during the non-televised pre-show ceremony.

Feek, part of country duo Joey+Rory, succumbed to cancer in March of 2016.

"It finally came out a year ago and we sat together in the final days and watched this awards ceremony last year", he shared.

Rory added that Joey had beamed and said 'If we win, I'll know before you will.' He added: 'This is to my wife. It was recorded in hotel rooms whenever she had the strength to sing.

"Now I am even more thankful that I am going because she did want me to go", Rory said in an interview from his farm in rural Pottsville, Tenn. "And then maybe, just maybe one day she'll come out here [to the Grammys] with me". When it was over she said, 'If we get nominated for a Grammy, you have to promise me that you'll go.

Although the Feek's did not bring home a win that year, Rory made a promise to his wife - that if they were nominated for an award in 2017, he would attend.

The duo were nominated for best country duo/group performance for "If I Needed You" a year ago. He told Entertainment Tonight the toddler was staying with her grandmother while he was in Los Angeles for the Grammys and was likely "playing outside" when he called. Joey's mother is with her, and also my daughters [Heidi and Hopie, both adults]. While he wasn't able to get ahold of IN to tell her he'd won, they'll get another chance to celebrate IN the coming week.

Rory Feek's memoir "This Life I Live," the same title of his popular blog where he chronicled his wife's ups and downs with cancer over the last few years, will be out Tuesday.

"She turns three next week, actually this Friday".
