Biloxi Crash: Three Killed, Others Hurt After Train Hits Charter Bus

A CSX train collided with a charter bus in Biloxi, Miss., killing at least three people Tuesday afternoon, according to NBC station WXXV. The incident occurred at 2:12 p.m. local time.

About "six or seven" people rescued from the bus walked away from the scene, WLOX reported, noting that all 50 passengers are considered to be injured.

More details to come.

The CSX train was headed east while the bus was headed north. He said there are deaths and injuries, but he could not immediately quantify them.

Emergency crews were seen removing passengers through emergency window exits on the bus.

Turkey condemns deadly terror attack in Pakistan
Islamabad claims that Pakistani Taliban use Afghan soil to stage terrorist attacks across Pakistan, a charge Kabul denies. Pakistan has accused neighbouring Afghanistan of harbouring the militants who have carried out the attacks.

Witnesses told WLOX-TV that passengers were senior citizens.

The bus was marked as belonging to Echo Transportation, which Texas corporate records show is a unit of a company called TBL Group, based in Grand Prairie, near Dallas.

All train traffic in the area has been called to a halt as authorities try and deal with the collision.

Victims have been taken to Merit Health and Ocean Springs Hospital in Biloxi, and Singing River Hospital in nearby Pascagoula.
