Bucks Get Raptors In First Playoff Round

After leading his team to the National Basketball Association playoffs for the second time in three years, Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo tried to act emotional.

At halftime, the Bucks sported a 72-50 lead and even though Charlotte made a valiant effort in the second half outscoring the Bucks 58-46, the deficit was just too much to overcome. They had the league's second best fourth-quarter offense and fourth best fourth-quarter defense. The list of people who have done that in a season is not a long one. This is just the beginning. "We wanted to be in a playoff spot like we did previous year, but we weren't that far away".

The playoff quest hadn't been easy.

"We've got to play a flawless game to be able to beat them on the road". He also had five assists and three rebounds.

None of that matters now, though. "For us to come back from where we were to being able to solidify a playoff position, it was huge for this organization and going forward".

The Bucks began the day needing a victory and a loss by Chicago, Indiana or Miami to nail down a playoff spot.

The Bulls will be guaranteed a playoff spot if they beat the Brooklyn Nets in their finale.

The Bucks limited the Sixers to 22 percent shooting in the period (4 of 18) and 29.7 percent accuracy in the second half (11 of 37).

Underlining the severity of the blast, prosecutors said a piece of metal shrapnel was lodged in the head-rest of a bus seat. But a defiant Dortmund vowed not to "give in to terror", with players returning to the pitch for training.

Richaun Holmes collected 17 points and 10 rebounds for Philadelphia, which dropped its sixth straight. Antetokounmpo is the first player ever to finish top 20 in all five major statistical categories, and led the Bucks in those same five areas. A healthy Khris Middleton has helped fill the void, and the off-season addition of Australian agitator Matthew Dellavedova will help pace the young Bucks (unintentional rap reference, but stay tuned for an intentional one).

Serge Ibaka has been a revelation on both ends of the court since Toronto acquired him midway through the season, but it's the play of Jonas Valanciunas that will make or break the team's title hopes. Saric celebrated his 23rd birthday Saturday. The issues can be pointed to many things but one thing that seems to stand out is absence of potential rookie of year Malcolm Brogdon, who has missed the last four games with a back injury. The third, Sixers forward Dario Saric, has been limited by foot problems of late.

"It really is just a game", Al Horford added.

They have dropped their last three games, including a 121-114 loss against Boston last Saturday. The Bucks travel to Boston to end the regular season against the Celtics.

The fact that the Toronto Raptors' core has waded through different types of playoff scenarios over the past few years could have a positive impact in the upcoming post-season, says club president Masai Ujiri.

The Milwaukee Bucks snapped a three game losing streak, riding a balanced scoring attack to a 92-74 win over the Denver Nuggets Monday night at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.
