Crosby, Penguins edge Blue Jackets 4-1 for 2-0 series lead

Jaden Schwartz scored a power-play goal late in the second period to send St. Louis to a win over Minnesota and to a 3-0 lead in their first-round Western Conference playoff series. The Blues and Wild will clash for game 3 on Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m.in St. Louis. Despite Werenski's gruesome injury, referees let play continue, and Pittsburgh's Bryan Rust took advantage of the de facto power play to score the game-tying goal on a pass from Evgeni Malkin.

"We did enough to get the win", Edmundson said, "and hopefully we can elevate our game a couple more notches in St. Louis". Given the struggles of the Blue Jackets' offense, how do they generate more offense that leads to goals? They've only made it three times in their 17 years of existence. Phil Kessel did it in Game 1.

The result is that 3-0 lead in the series with a chance to end it here Tuesday night. So obviously, the chips are stacked completely in the Penguins' favor.

"It doesn't matter how well the goalie played, we have to get to him", Pavelski said. "We've been pretty good at that the last few games".

He is the second rookie in National Hockey League postseason history to complete a hat-trick in overtime, joining Gerry Plamondon of the 1949 Montreal Canadiens. Connor McDavid scored his first playoff goal in the third, also shorthanded, to put the Oilers up for the duration. However, the Pens scored twice in the second period and both teams traded goals in the third period to force overtime.

Long before Game 3, this 22-year-old rookie has been showing the presence of mind to always be in the right place at the right time. No, the Penguins went to someone who's just as capable. "They did a good job of keeping pucks in tonight and that's where we got hurt".

A lot was made of Columbus and their strategy of having Brandon Dubinsky and his line try to slow down Crosby.

It's happening: Watch April the giraffe finally give birth
More than 1.2 million people were tuned in to the park's stream on Saturday morning as the much-anticipated birth began. Remember, the Giraffe Cam was not set-up to capture an immediate birth - it was set-up to capture a process.

Allen has been the star of the first three games. But the Capitals should also be better for the adversity they faced early against the Maple Leafs and showing they could avoid panic and respond.

The Penguins are up 2-0 in this series, outscoring the Blue Jackets 7-2, but the Blue Jackets have outplayed the Penguins for stretches. Actually, the Jackets aren't stopping anyone.

Exactly like in Game 1, the Oilers were up by a goal heading into the final 20 minutes of the contest.

Sullivan said he liked the way his players dealt with the early pressure and remained focus on sticking with their structure, particularly his goaltender.

Brandon Saad scored for Columbus, and Sergei Bobrovsky stopped 28 shots but the Blue Jackets continued to have issues offensively.

It's tough to see what happens in live play, but the slow motion replays and various angles show how the puck ricochets and actually slips right under Werenski's visor to strike him in the face.
