Tarek and Christina El Moussa to resume 'Flip or Flop' despite divorce

The divorcing co-hosts of HGTV's "Flip or Flop" are returning to the show for a seventh season.

Whether Christina and Tarek were and are actually happy working together, or were simply putting on a courageous face for the cameras, is a matter of dispute.

The couple split in May 2016 - after a tearful Christina, 33, called 911 reporting Tarek, 35, had taken a gun into a forested park behind their Yorba Linda, Calif. home - but continued to publicly play house through December 2016 when holiday-themed promos featuring the pair were airing on HGTV even as news of their split broke. The ex-husband and wife team announced Monday (April 24) that they will continue working together in the series.

"Tarek and I have been working together for a long time and we look forward to continuing to work together on 'Flip or Flop, '" she told People magazine. While this would end most professional relationships, Christina and Tarek chose to stick it out.

If there isn't more Flip or Flop after Season 7, HGTV ordered five spin-offs from the popular series, taking the premise to Chicago, Nashville, Atlanta, Las Vegas and Texas. According to a January In Touch Weekly report, Tarek was abusive toward Christina on the set of Flip or Flop.

Nevertheless, the future of Flip Or Flop - at least, the version of it hosted by Tarek and Christina - had been in doubt. The word is still out of the network plans renew the show for an eighth season.

Tarek and Christina El Moussa, who are in the middle of a divorce, have signed on for another full season of the show, according to the New York Post.

Flip or Flop follows Tarek and Christina as they purchase distressed houses, fix them up and sell them at a tidy profit.
