Westbrook's triple-double leads Thunder past Rockets 115-113

Backup Thunder point guard Norris Cole provided some key minutes to help Westbrook.

It is the Game 3 of Rockets and OKC Thunder in the NBA Playoffs 2017. Whether he actually was is up for debate, as Westbrook missed three critical free throws in the closing minutes.

James Harden was dominant for the Rockets, but the amount of support he had from teammates was evident and could prove to be the difference going forward.

Chris Paul led the Los Angeles Clippers to a 111-106 triumph over the Utah Jazz, giving them a 2-1 series lead.

The Thunder host the Rockets for game four on Sunday, April 23, with tip off set for 2:30 p.m. CT. However, he did make just 3-of-6 from the line in the fourth to give the Rockets several chances late in this game. Even when the Rockets got down, he just looked as cool as can be and continued to play his game, something Westbrook got away from in Game 2 when he was trying to bring his team back. When Westbrook returned in the fourth, he struggled on exhausted legs. Part of that is because of Westbrook's ability to self-assess after his personal marathon film sessions.

"I enjoy being around him, I like working with him, I enjoy coaching him because I think he's very, very honest".

"Let's be honest", said Donovan. The Beard just never seems to waiver from who he is and that's what's made him one of the best players in the National Basketball Association. The more he helps the help, the more they help.

The Rockets were paced by another standout effort from Harden whom many believe should shade Westbrook for the MVP award.

Adams was quiet throughout most of the game, but stepped up when it counted with only his second made shot of the contest. Taj Gibson added 20 points and Andre Roberson and Victor Oladipo each scored 12 for the Thunder, who shot 55 percent from the field.

As the final buzzer sounded for Washington's 109-101 victory over the Atlanta Hawks in Game 2 of their Eastern Conference first-round series Wednesday night, Oubre went up to a ball that was on the ground and kicked it.

Westbrook had 32 points, 13 rebounds and 11 assists in his seventh career play-off triple-double. He finished with 44 points on 11-of-21 shooting.

"Well, for one, we are all one team". I don't have a cast, I don't have other guys.

"Yeah, we got to come out with some dog in us", Harden said. "We just didn't have the will or the want early in the game, and then we rectified that". The Thunder are 5-2 in his career when he gets a playoff triple-double. "There's a balance trying to go all offense or all defense". This was a very entertaining game to watch and here's a few takeaways from Game 3.

With Westbrook, the truth lies in how one perceives him. "They did a great job finishing plays and got big stops towards the end of the game. He played an exceptional game".

"If you cuss you get fined", he said.

It was Harden's second missed 3-pointer - both short - in the final 15 seconds.

When Beverley fell to the floor after attempting a layup in the second quarter, he landed at the feet of a fan identified by ESPN as Stuart Scaramucci, son of Thunder minority owner Jay Scaramucci.

This is the what we were waiting for this entire time in the Rockets-Thunder series.
