Zelda patch improves framerate on Switch

In the meantime, I can say anecdotally that it definitely makes a difference in denser areas like the Korok Forest.

Anecdotally, trouble spots - particularly areas with a lot of long grass - do seem to have received a significant boost, although certain areas with particular problems (which I won't reveal for fear of spoilers) still do suffer from consistent dips.

Connect the Nintendo Switch console to the Internet. Update 1.1.1 is out now, and the patch notes are just one line long.

There are two things critics and gamers have nearly universally agreed upon when it comes to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild: it's a great game, but its framerate is not so great when played on a TV.

This week, Nintendo began pushing out patch 1.1.1 for Breath of the Wild and from the looks of it, frame rates are improved quite a bit while the Switch is docked. These issues aren't entirely fixed in the new update, but they're much less severe.

With luck, the Breath of the Wild Version 1.1.2 will fix all the remaining frame rate issues. You should be prompted to install the update the next time you boot up or resume the game, so once it's been applied, head down to the comments section and let us know if it helps with Zelda's frame rate issues!
