Aric Almirola taken away on a stretcher after horrifying NASCAR wreck

Danica Patrick's frustrating season continued Saturday night when Joey Logano turned into her entering the first turn and sent the No. 10 vehicle headfirst into the wall at Kansas Speedway.

The cars of Danica Patrick (10) and Joey Logano (22) are hauled past rescue efforts for Aric Almirola, back, during the NASCAR Monster Cup auto race at Kansas Speedway in Kansas City, Kan., Saturday, May 13, 2017. Patrick's auto spun into a fiery crash against the outside wall. Almirola had nowhere to go and barreled right into the scrum created by Logano's and Patrick's crash. The two then hit the wall, at which point Almirola came in and collided with Logano.

After being cleared from the care center, Patrick also expressed concern for the Richard Petty Motorsports driver. Both were evaluated and released. He immediately dropped the window net by the driver's side door to indicate he was conscious, but safety crews had to cut off the roof to safely get him out. Almirola was transported to the University of Kansas Medical Center. Logano in particular was shaken up emotionally, mentioning multiple times he was "praying for Aric" in a television interview with FOX Sports 1. "Sometimes we forget that and maybe take for granted that you see real hard hits and people walk away and then you see one where someone doesn't and it puts things back into perspective just how unsafe it can be."? I just hope that Aric's alright. That's the last thing you want to see, a big hit like that for anyone. I took a hard left.

The win lifted Arsenal one place to sixth, four points behind fourth-place Manchester City and three points below fifth-place Manchester United.

"Everyone pray for Aric right now". "There's nothing I could have done".

"Every time I'm doing better, something stupid happens", she told FS1.

"I hope Aric's okay, he's definitely feeling the worst of everybody".
