Auto racing: Bourdais fades as Power cruises in IndyCar road race

So that turned into a one-lap-only effort.

Serving as the lead-in to the Indy 500, which takes place in two weeks, the IndyCar Grand Prix certainly isn't almost as popular as its counterpart, but it's still an entertaining race that takes place at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway's road course. The Honda engine in his Dale Coyne Racing-prepared Dallara failed at the end of his third circuit.

Josef Newgarden was on course for a strong finish for Penske, but the Barber race victor was issued with a drive-through penalty for speeding in the pits during the final round of stops.

IMS President Doug Boles says "we're proud to welcome Jostens to the IMS family and look forward to seeing our champions wearing their rings starting with this weekend's INDYCAR Grand Prix".

It's not been a good recent run for Bourdais, who opened the season with a victory at St. Petersburg, Fla.

"We didn't win the first race at Indy so hopefully we can win the second one in a couple of weeks". He said even the 10th-place finish in Long Beach was disappointing because he started sixth. You put yourself in that position, it'll happen. He was passed for third by Ryan Hunter-Reay five laps later.

The INDYCAR Grand Prix is set to kick off at 3:50 p.m. after a full day of racing from the three lower classes of cars. Will Power led the most laps, leading 61 of the race's 85.

And Marco Andretti made contact with Kanaan on the first lap, knocking both out of contention.

But it's Saturday's race, the IndyCar GP, in which Pagenaud has really excelled.

In contrast, Will Power had a flawless day.

New Zealand's Scott Dixon was third at 1:10.4306. Nico Jamin (Andretti Autosport) won the Indy Lights presented by Cooper Tires race by 0.8405-seconds over Zachary Claman De Melo (Carlin).

Fed set to leave interest rates unchanged, may hint at June hike
While the rate of economic growth leaves much to be desired, at 0.7% annual pace in the first quarter, unemployment hit a 10-year low, at 4.5%.

The fun starts with Team Penske once again dominating qualifying, ensuring that Will Power and Helio Castroneves are still at the front of the pack.

"In the Fast Six, the auto had a fantastic balance and did a really neat lap", Power said.

He told "I feel we chose the wrong downforce setting - we didn't have enough, which penalized us in terms of tire degradation on the first stint".

"I think this track lends itself to my physicality", Rahal said.

"Dixon was closing there for a while so I was just trying to manage the gap and the tyres. We're saving that for the [Indianapolis] 500, I guess".

"Since we had such a crappy grand prix, I think (our focus) shifted 30 minutes ago", Schmidt said shortly after the race ended.

Spencer Pigot finished in 9th place despite having issues in the pits, and Juan Pablo Montoya finished in 10th place in his first IndyCar race of the season in what was constantly referred to as a "test run" with Team Penske to prepare for the upcoming Indianapolis 500.

Graham Rahal has two top-five finishes in nine Indy starts, and a victory would allow the 28-year-old to join Unser and Al Unser the only father-son winners of the race. Bourdais fell to seventh with 136 points.

Simon Pagenaud has won this race two of the three times it has been held.

The only other penalty came when Mikhail Aleshin drove over pit equipment on Lap 63, yet another problem on a tough day for the Russian driver.
