Daly back to winning ways

Daly back to winning ways

Daly, classically decked out in stars and stripes pants, limped over the line with three bogeys in a row to finish the tournament but still managed to claim the championship by one shot.

"It wasn't pretty at the end, but I got it done", said the 51-year-old Daly, who wore American flag trousers Sunday and was doused with champagne by fellow players Esteban Toledo and Michael Allen after sinking the winning putt.

"So I'm just going to kind of get a little more aggressive like I have been this week", Daly said.

Daly, nicknamed "Wild Thing" by the British tabloids back in the 1990s due to his hard-partying lifestyle, won five times on the PGA Tour, including two major championships, the 1991 PGA and 1995 British Open. Wearing American flag trousers, Daly finished at 14-under 202 and earned $322,500. Perry bogeyed the 17th hole, while Armour bogeyed 17 and 18.

The royal parents chose the school specifically because they wanted to avoid the elitism that usually goes along with, you know, being a prince.

Armour, too, said he gave away his chances to win. Kevin Sutherland (67) took fourth at 205, and Jay Haas (67) came in fifth at 206.

In true Daly style, he was dressed in stars-and-stripes trousers for the final round and took great delight in being showered in champagne after sinking the winning putt. She won the then-Lorena Ochoa Invitational in stroke play in 2009 for her first tour title. He finished at 10-under 278.

In the morning semifinals at Club de Golf Mexico, Kim beat Mi Jung Hur 5 and 4, and Jutanugarn topped Michelle Wie 4 and 3. He followed that with a birdie on the second hole keep close to the leader.

Hur beat Wie in the third-place match. The 24-year-old South Korean player is projected to jump from 12th to eighth in the world ranking.
